Desmond & Margaret - R.O.M.

R.O.M.'s are lovely when you arrange for a time when there is no one else in line =)

He's a lawyer and she's a doctor. Due to Margaret's busy schedule as a doctor, their R.O.M. was done at 5pm, in the company of close family members and her best-friend, but it also meant that we had to scurry for the last available light for the day =p

Proud mothers.

Best friends.

And a bit of fun in the end ;-)

Chun Hee & Geralyn - continued celebrations

Chun Hee and Geralyn (Chin Mien) continued their wedding celebrations from Alor Setar to Kuala Lumpur. As in Alor Setar, the wedding celebration was a blast, as it always is when good friends are present!

Chun Hee & Geralyn

I am still amazed at the variety of wedding traditions we have. Cross a state border, and things are done slightly different...

The groom is from Alor Setar. So celebrations were held in this land of paddy fields! =)

The bride's mum & dad are such are cute couple =)

Helping mum with her makeup.

Siblings....

The guys...

People from Alor Setar definitely know how to party! The young...

...and not-so-young...partied the evening away! ;-D

Passion Pursuit

I spent 3 days 2 nights with the participants of Passion Pursuit, an event organised by the YWCA for those between 15-18 years. The event was held at El Sanctuary, a beautiful place run by great people! =)

Here, girls from different ethnic groups and backgrounds, learnt teamwork...

...made their own ground-rules...

...laughed...

...shared stories...

...learnt to lead...

...learnt about themselves...

...contemplated...

...gave each other massages...

...spoke-out...

...solved puzzles...

...learnt to trust and found courage during the night jungle trail...(it was pitch black and only a few of us had small torch lights)...

...learnt the value of support from Sloggi...(there are undergarments for almost every occasion!)

...hunted for treasure...

..oh err....that's Eunice at the back...exhausted from running up and down the hill during the treasure hunt... ;-D

...had a go at acting....

...learnt how to do the "jump shot"...

...not bad eh...

...and just being plain silly ;-)

They were definitely not shy in front of the camera!

The girls also had the opportunity to listen to stories from different inspirational ladies...I am touched by their generosity in giving back to society, and in taking out time from their busy schedules to share their lives with the younger generation...

Hannah

Rina

Lin from the Chicken Rice Shop

Lynn from Sweet Chat

They were not only inspirational and real in their sharing...but very funny as well...it was a great session!

Ahh...and the camp would not have run if not for the dedication of the camp "guardians"...

Juwita

Michel

Sandra

The camp also had a special guest...the World YWCA President, Susan =)

Soon...it was time to say "goodbye". The girls were given a chance to write to themselves about what they learnt, about theirr next step in life, etc. Some wrote really long letters to themselves. It was a meaningful session and a great way to end camp.

Well...must not leave out the doggies from El Sanctuary. They were soooooooooo cute!

We named this one "handsome". He guards our door at night =)

And this was the camp's favourite....soooooooooooooooooooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And so...that's it...I had a great time...but am completely drained...

...time to put my feet (which is suffering from ant bites) up and rest a little...

Transformers

I spent a day and half with participants of the Diocesan Worship Conference 2009 held at St Peter's Church, Ipoh. The Conference theme was "Transformers". During the photography workshop (the second portion, to be precise), my three cameras were passed around for the participants (mostly the youth) to have a feel of it. When the cameras came back to me, they were filled 300++ photographs =) =) Here are a few from the 300++ photographs taken by whoever had a go had my cameras...mostly the youths... =) =)

The youths...

I had fun processing some of their shots =)

I think they got quite excited when they got the camera to focus on the ring and bokeh-ing the back part of the hand =)

I thought the photograph in this point & shoot was quite interesting =)

....and they didn't leave me out... haha....thanks for including me in your shots guys and gals =)

And well...that's the lot of us, from the song writing, worship leading, sound engineering and photography workshop of the conference! =)

To those who participated in the photography workshop, remember...the camera is not the transformer...YOU are! Happy shooting ;-)
