Passion Pursuit

I spent 3 days 2 nights with the participants of Passion Pursuit, an event organised by the YWCA for those between 15-18 years. The event was held at El Sanctuary, a beautiful place run by great people! =)

Here, girls from different ethnic groups and backgrounds, learnt teamwork...

...made their own ground-rules...

...laughed...

...shared stories...

...learnt to lead...

...learnt about themselves...

...contemplated...

...gave each other massages...

...spoke-out...

...solved puzzles...

...learnt to trust and found courage during the night jungle trail...(it was pitch black and only a few of us had small torch lights)...

...learnt the value of support from Sloggi...(there are undergarments for almost every occasion!)

...hunted for treasure...

..oh err....that's Eunice at the back...exhausted from running up and down the hill during the treasure hunt... ;-D

...had a go at acting....

...learnt how to do the "jump shot"...

...not bad eh...

...and just being plain silly ;-)

They were definitely not shy in front of the camera!

The girls also had the opportunity to listen to stories from different inspirational ladies...I am touched by their generosity in giving back to society, and in taking out time from their busy schedules to share their lives with the younger generation...

Hannah

Rina

Lin from the Chicken Rice Shop

Lynn from Sweet Chat

They were not only inspirational and real in their sharing...but very funny as well...it was a great session!

Ahh...and the camp would not have run if not for the dedication of the camp "guardians"...

Juwita

Michel

Sandra

The camp also had a special guest...the World YWCA President, Susan =)

Soon...it was time to say "goodbye". The girls were given a chance to write to themselves about what they learnt, about theirr next step in life, etc. Some wrote really long letters to themselves. It was a meaningful session and a great way to end camp.

Well...must not leave out the doggies from El Sanctuary. They were soooooooooo cute!

We named this one "handsome". He guards our door at night =)

And this was the camp's favourite....soooooooooooooooooooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And so...that's it...I had a great time...but am completely drained...

...time to put my feet (which is suffering from ant bites) up and rest a little...
